Understanding the HALO Ablation Technology                                                                                                      Go Back

The HALO technology removes the diseased layer of cells from the esophagus and treats the disease before it has the chance  to

progress to cancer.  It is performed without incisions in an outpatient setting.

The HALO procedure cures Barrett's esophagus which is a precancerous condition affecting the lining of the esophagus as a result

of acid-reflux.  Left untreated, it can lead to a dangerous type of cancer. The HALO procedure does not eliminate acid-reflux so

after ablation therapy patients resume acid suppression with medication and lifestyle choices.
